HELP To Check Safety Of Damansara Campus And Close Affected Building
HELP University has issued a holding statement with regards to an incident that occurred this morning at its Bukit Damansara campus, where about 9 individuals were left injured, with one fatality.
The University said the incident occurred in the kitchen of an F&B outlet located on the 4th floor of one of the campus buildings, where students and staff on campus were immediately evacuated in accordance with emergency protocols. Emergency services arrived shortly after they were notified it added.
Nine people sustained injuries, including four students and one university staff member. The University also informed that there was one fatality involving an external contractor.
HELP said it is working closely with medical services to ensure that those affected receive the appropriate medical assistance and is also in communication with family members of the affected to provide support and assistance.
While an investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of this unfortunate incident, the affected building will remain closed until investigations are completed.
HELP said it will also conduct internal checks to ensure the safety and integrity of the rest of Bukit Damansara Campus, as well as the Subang Bestari campus. It also noted that the Subang Bestari campus will remain open for operations and classes.
