vivo officially launches OriginOS 6 for an AI-driven experience starting with the new vivo X300
vivo’s smartphone operating system just got its latest upgrade through the new OriginOS 6, which packs all the essentials for the user to live smartly in the AI era.
At the core of this new update is the Origin Smooth Engine that balances computing, storage, and display. It starts with a new Ultra-Core Computing framework that prioritizes key tasks, improving app cold-start speeds by 18.5% and boosting frame-rate stability by 10.5%. Other optimizations include Memory Fusion for 106% faster data loading and Dual Rendering for 35% better animation performance.
Then the Origin Animation System introduces refined motion effects like Spring Animation, Blur Transition, Morphing Animation, and One Shot Animation. It also enhances touch responsiveness with a Snap-Up Engine, ensuring faster, smoother interactions. The OS earned SGS certification for sustained smoothness, simulating 5 years of heavy use.
Meanwhile, colors/shape/layout/depth all received unified design updates while the new vivo Sans font supports over 40 languages and adjustable weights. Dynamic Glow and Translucent Color effects bring light and texture to life across the interface too.
On the other hand, you have the iManager and Origin Health, offering a cleaner and more focused user experience through personalization in Lock Screen Grid for custom widget layouts and the Home Screen Grid, which introduces a flexible 4×7 layout and adaptive folders.
For vivo AI, it will host things like Google Gemini and Circle to Search, the new Origin Island for real-time status display and smart assistant, and Android 16’s Live Updates that provide contextual suggestions and features such as Copy and Go and Drag and Go for cross-app task continuity.
Lastly, the usual AI suites such as AI Retouch, Smart Call Assistant, DocMaster, AI Search, Office Kit, and One Tap Transfer can be found out of the box for instant access. And you get better and up-to-date security updates and protection across the product cycle.
Availability
OriginOS 6 will begin rolling out globally in November 2025, with Malaysia among the first markets to receive it, and the vivo X300 will debut as the first device pre-installed with this update.
