Tengku Zafrul Officially A PKR Member
Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz has confirmed that he is now a PKR member, joining the party’s Ampang division.
Speaking to Malaysian media during a visit to the Malaysia Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka, Tengku Zafrul said his application was approved about two weeks ago at a meeting of PKR’s Central Leadership Council (MPP).
“I don’t remember the exact date, but it was during the party’s MPP meeting two weeks ago,” he said.
On May 30, the former finance minister announced his resignation from UMNO, relinquishing his posts as Supreme Council member, Kota Raja division chief and party member. At the time, he publicly expressed his intention to join PKR, marking a significant shift in his political career.
