Takaful Malaysia Independent Director Mohamad Salihuddin Resigns
Syarikat Takaful Malaysia Keluarga Berhad has announced the resignation of independent non-executive director Mohamad Salihuddin Ahmad, effective 17 May 2026.
The company said the 63-year-old industry veteran stepped down to pursue other interests after more than three decades in the insurance and takaful sector.
Mohamad Salihuddin has held numerous senior leadership positions across Malaysia’s insurance and takaful industry since beginning his career as a marketing executive at London & Pacific Insurance in 1988.
Over the years, he served in various management roles at several insurance firms including American Home Assurance Berhad, American Malaysia Insurance Berhad and Amal Assurance Bhd before moving into top executive positions.
His previous appointments included general manager of MCIS Zurich Insurance Berhad, senior vice president of corporate insurance business at Malaysia National Insurance Berhad, and executive vice president of retail marketing and sales support at Mayban Fortis Holdings Berhad.
Following the merger involving Mayban Fortis, MNI and Takaful Nasional, he was appointed chief executive officer of Malaysia National Insurance Berhad in late 2005.
Mohamad Salihuddin later held chief executive positions at several major takaful operators, including Prudential BSN Takaful Berhad, Great Eastern Takaful Sdn Bhd and AmMetLife Takaful Berhad.
He also served as a technical committee member at the Finance Accreditation Agency from 2013 to 2019.
The company did not disclose plans for a replacement following his resignation.
