Pekat Awarded RM33 Million Data Centre Subcontract By Gamuda
Pekat Group Berhad announced that its indirect wholly-owned subsidiary, Pekat E & LP Sdn. Bhd, has accepted a Letter of Award from Gamuda Engineering Sdn. Bhd. for a subcontract worth RM33.8 million.
Under the agreement, PELP will be responsible for the construction, completion, testing, commissioning, and setting to work of earthing and lightning protection systems for the Hyperscale Data Centre at Eco Business Park V in Puncak Alam, Selangor. The works cover the facility support area, data centre halls, mechanical and electrical yards, the offshore development center hub, and other ancillary structures.
The Subcontract Works are set to commence in November 2025. Trade completion for Facility 1 and Facility 2 is scheduled for 16 December 2026 and 15 April 2027 respectively, with substantial completion targeted by 28 February 2027 and 1 September 2027. The Defects Liability Period will begin from the date of the Certificate of Substantial Completion, spanning 36 months for Facility 1 and 30 months for Facility 2.
As part of the agreement, PELP will provide an unconditional performance bond of RM1.69 million, equivalent to 5% of the Subcontract Sum, and procure statutory and contractual insurance coverage. In the event of delays, PELP will be liable for liquidated damages of RM50,000 per day per facility, capped at a maximum of 20% of the Subcontract Sum, or RM6.76 million.
