Nestle Led Gainers With Major Rise In Share Prices
Bursa Malaysia rebounded from early losses to close higher on April 17, supported by the upbeat performance of regional peers amid improved investor sentiment.
This is evident as Nestle (M) Bhd rebounded from its lower closing on April 16 and closed RM4.56 higher at RM81.60.
Other top gainers for April 17 trading session include Heineken Malaysia Bhd who surged 44 sen to RM26.82, Malaysian Pacific Industries Bhd increased 32 sen to RM15.20, LPI Capital Bhd grew 24 sen to RM14.08 and Kluang Rubber Company (Malaya) Bhd rose 19 sen to close at RM5.62.
On the other hand, the top five decliners were led by United Plantations Bhd who eased 50 sen to close at RM22, followed by Kuala Lumpur Kepong Bhd which dropped 20 sen to RM20, Fraser & Neave Holdings Bhd which declined by 18 sen to RM25.62, and Ajinomoto (M) Bhd and Hong Leong Industries Bhd which decreased by 16 sen to RM13.82 and RM13.40 respectively.
In the broader market, gainers outpaced decliners 455 to 354, while 467 counters were unchanged, 1,134 untraded, and 19 others suspended.
Turnover slipped to 2.4 billion units valued at RM1.6 billion from three billion units valued at RM1.65 billion on April 16.
