Loewe Blends Tradition and Innovation in Its New Perfume Trio

LOEWE Perfumes has unveiled its “Crafted Collection,” featuring three new scents that each celebrate a single distinct note. The collection includes “Bittersweet Oud,” “Iris Root,” and “Roasted Vanilla,” blending classic ingredients with a modern twist. Presented in artisanal handblown glass bottles, the perfumes highlight the brand’s dedication to craftsmanship and fine materials.

To launch the collection, LOEWE enlisted actor and writer Eva Victor, known from Sorry, Baby, as the campaign’s face. Photographed by Tim Elkaim, the visuals embody LOEWE Perfumes’ connection to nature and sensory experience. This campaign also marks the debut under LOEWE’s new creative directors, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez.

Each fragrance offers a unique sensory journey. “Bittersweet Oud” reinterprets the traditional oud note with bitter orange and sandalwood, adding freshness.

“Iris Root” emphasises the powdery iris complemented by zesty timut pepper and angelica seed, adding complexity. Meanwhile, “Roasted Vanilla” stands apart with its blend of woody cognac and spicy pink pepper, elevating vanilla beyond its familiar sweetness.

Rooted in LOEWE’s heritage of artisan craftsmanship, the Crafted Collection reflects the brand’s 1846 origins as a leather artisan collective. This commitment to quality continues in each fragrance, marrying exceptional raw materials with meticulous design.

Nuria Cruelles, LOEWE’s nose, explains that the goal was to sculpt classic ingredients into new, unexpected forms, allowing each note to “whisper” its story.

The perfumes took over two years to perfect, with significant focus on ingredient sourcing and balancing contrasts. For example, the Iris Root scent pairs creamy iris rhizome with grapefruit-like timut pepper and herbaceous violet.

Roasted Vanilla brings an unusual dryness and animalic quality to the familiar note, blending it with oakwood and spices for a comforting yet tonic sweetness.

Bittersweet Oud is inspired by Cruelles’s experiences in Dubai, combining rich oud with a surprising sweet orange twist for a scent that feels both mystical and fresh.

Packaging is just as important: each bottle is a sculptural work of art, featuring naturally occurring bubbles in handblown glass and topped with a granite cap. The result is a perfume that feels as precious as the scent itself.

Priced at $485 USD per bottle, the Crafted Collection invites wearers to explore fragrance as a form of personal expression, akin to jewellery or fashion.

As Cruelles puts it, perfume is something “in the air that you don’t notice, but it’s there.” She suggests closing your eyes to fully experience the depth and emotion carried in each scent.
