Bursa Edges Lower Amid Morning Malaise And Fed Announcement
Bursa Malaysia opened on a cautious note this morning, with key indices edging lower amid subdued sentiment.
At 9.07am, the benchmark FBM KLCI slipped 1.62 points to 1,510.02, weighed down by broad-based weakness across major indices. The index had moved between 1,512.38 and 1,509.81 during early trading.
Other indices also registered losses, with the FBM 70 falling 61.13 points to 16,161.87, and the FBM Emas retreating 18.09 points to 11,285.19. The FTSE4Good Bursa Malaysia Index (F4GBM) eased 1.68 points to 912.41, while the FBM Shariah dipped 11.79 points to 11,306.58.
On the broader market, MPIRE was the most active counter, slipping 1 sen to 10 sen on a volume of over 32.4 million shares. Other actively traded stocks included KHB, Key Asic, ALAM, and Velesto, with mixed performances across the board.
Market sentiment remains cautious as investors await fresh catalysts to drive direction.
