Bank Launches Multi Purpose Debit Card For TVET Students

A total of 74,000 students from 86 vocational colleges and 9 technical schools across Malaysia will soon benefit from a new multi-purpose smart card under the MyTVETKPM initiative, launched in collaboration between RHB Islamic Bank and the Ministry of Education.

The smart card will serve both as a matriculation ID and a debit card, enabling students to open RHB Pro Savings Account-i, manage funds, make cashless payments and access exclusive promotions from various sectors, including food and beverages, transport, education and telecommunications.

The initiative, seen as a continuation of the MySISWA programme introduced in 2022 for public university students, is aimed at enhancing financial inclusion and digital accessibility among Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) students.

RHB Islamic and Yayasan Didik Negara, the Ministry’s official philanthropic arm, signed a collaborative agreement for the rollout in 2024.
