Toshiba TV Unveils 116-Inch RGB Mini LED, Its Largest Screen Yet
TVS REGZA Corporation has developed its largest-ever television, a 116-inch RGB Mini LED model, scheduled for commercial release later this year.
The new screen incorporates the company’s “RGB Mini LED Backlight System,” which uses discrete red, green and blue LEDs for greater colour purity and an ultra-wide colour gamut. By independently controlling each channel, the technology delivers more natural and vibrant images across large-format displays.
At its core, the television features the “REGZA Engine ZRα,” an image processing engine powered by deep neural network AI. The processor analyses content in real time, optimising brightness, reducing light bleed and reproducing colours with high fidelity. It also supports 108-bit gradation control and AI Scene Picture Quality Pro for enhanced colour expression.
The launch follows Toshiba TV’s earlier entry into large-screen entertainment with a 100-inch model in 2023. The company said the new display builds on that momentum by introducing its next-generation display technologies.
While the 116-inch model remains under development, Toshiba TV has already integrated its advanced features into the Z770R Mini LED TV, currently available in the market. The model includes REGZA AI Picture, AI Sound, AI Pilot and Gen AI, which adapt in real time to content, environment and user preferences.
