The new Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 series is crazily thin
Within the September 2025 Galaxy Unpacked event, Samsung also announced the two big bois. I mean literally big. Introducing the new Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 series. For this generation, we do not have the Plus, so there’s only the small 11-inch version and also the big boi 14.6-inch version.
The new Tab S11 series are much thinner and lighter than before. I thought the previous generations were already impossibly thin, but Samsung made it even thinner. The Tab S11 Ultra is a massive 14.6-inch tablet that weighs 692 grams and only measures at 5.1mm thin. It’s actually thinner than the new S Pen.

And let’s talk about that now. From what we’ve been shown, the new Tab S11 series has a redesigned S Pen. It… has a lot of changes. Of course, it’s now hexagonal in shape so it literally looks and feels like a pencil when we hold it. It’s also not as bulky as before, making it more comfortable to hold. There’s one face of the hexagon that’s gray in color, signifying where the magnets are, so that we can snap it on the tablet.

And you might have realized that the S Pen now snaps at the side instead of the back. And throughout my short time with this tablet… I discovered that it no longer supports Bluetooth LE. That means the magic want feature that I love so much – video at the top right corner there if you want more context – is no longer usable on the new Tab S11 series. That’s honestly, really saddening.

This is also the first tablet to use One UI 8 Tablet, and Samsung said it has “upgraded Samsung DeX” with extended mode via a second monitor or phone, and has up to 4 workspaces a.k.a. virtual desktops. We’ll test this out when we get our hands on it.

Let’s now talk hardware. The Galaxy Tab S11 series are using the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ chipset. The Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra uses an 11,600mAh battery, whereas the Tab S11 uses an 8,400mAh battery.

As for the display, the Tab S11 Ultra got a change in its notch shape and also reduced to one camera. The wide angle is no longer there, and now we only have one ultrawide angle selfie cam for calls and whatnot.
The display itself is – I think – the same as what we had before. The Tab S11 Ultra has the anti-reflective coating, but the small Tab S11 does not.

Both the tablets within the Tab S11 series are available in gray and silver colors, and at least for us here in Malaysia – the keyboard is bundled.

Because of how thin the new Tab S11 is, the pogo pins to connect the keyboard has been moved to the back side. The keyboard is quite funky as the pogo pins automatically flip up to connect to the tablet. Otherwise, the overall design of the tablet remains the same as before.
