The new Garmin quatix 8 rugged nautical smartwatch is arriving soon in the Malaysian market
Garmin Malaysia has introduced its latest quatix 8, a nautical smartwatch designed for life on and off the water, now equipped with a built-in speaker and microphone for easier helm control and hands-free calls.
Coming in 47mm and 51mm versions, the new Garmin quatix 8 boasts a 1.4-inch AMOLED display, a durable titanium bezel, and a scratch-resistant sapphire lens. Built for rugged marine use, it is tested to military standards for thermal and shock resistance, includes leakproof metal buttons, a sensor guard, and is dive-rated up to 40 meters.
With battery life lasting up to 16 days (47mm) and 29 days (51mm), the smartwatch also includes an ambient light sensor for better readability in sunlight and a built-in LED flashlight with red night vision mode.
Furthermore, the quatix 8 comes with a built-in speaker and mic, letting users control chartplotters, mark waypoints, and issue voice commands via Bluetooth. It also supports call handling and voice assistant replies when paired with a compatible smartphone.
Acting as a remote for Garmin trolling motors and Fusion systems, it provides real-time data on depth, speed, and wind, and includes boating apps with tide alerts, anchor drag warnings, tack assist, and race timers.
Pricing and Availability
Priced at RM5,720 for the 47mm model and RM6,240 for the 51mm model, respectively, the new Garmin quatix 8 is set to launch in Malaysia sometime in mid-July.
