Swarovski Marks 130 Years with the “Facets of Time” Collection
Swarovski is celebrating its 130th anniversary with the launch of its new fall 2026 crystal components collection, Facets of Time. This collection highlights the brand’s dedication to luminosity and radiance by incorporating gold elements, including 18-karat gold and the new Crystal Royal Gold Pearl, evoking a sense of opulence and earthly elegance.
Founded in 1895 by Daniel Swarovski in Wattens, Austria, Swarovski has become a global leader in precision-cut crystals. Guided by a vision to create a “diamond for everyone,” the brand combines innovative craftsmanship with technical expertise.
Today, Swarovski offers nearly 20,000 crystal components, including Swarovski Zirconia and Swarovski Ceramics, and continues to support designers and creatives worldwide with seasonal launches featuring new cuts, colours and shapes.
Innovation and Craftsmanship at the Core
Each Swarovski creation builds on the brand’s reputation for innovation and precision. The signature Xirius and Xilion crystals feature an advanced “X-cut,” developed through optical measurement to achieve exceptional brilliance.
Designed for versatility, Swarovski crystals can be applied through sewing, casing or Hotfix technology, which uses temperature-activated glue to bond crystals to a wide range of textiles.
All Swarovski crystals are made in Austria using a proprietary glass formula that meets REACH requirements and carries certifications including Oekotex Standard 100, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001 and SMETA. These standards reflect the brand’s ongoing commitment to responsible production, sustainability and quality.
Looking Ahead: Sustainable Innovation
Swarovski continues to advance sustainable design with innovations such as Thermal Colour Fusion™, a technology that reduces environmental impact, and the Swarovski ReCreated™ initiative, which reuses crystal breakage from production to promote circularity.
This process has produced new ReCreated colours, including Ice Blue, Jonquil and Dark Sapphire, with Peridot Smoked Topaz and Light Smoked Topaz debuting alongside the Facets of Time collection.
The Meaning Behind “Facets of Time”
The Facets of Time collection captures Swarovski’s balance of heritage and modernity. Described as evoking “earthly elegance,” it features richly faceted tones and gold-infused finishes, such as the New Effect Crystal Aurum, which contains 18-karat gold, and the Crystal Royal Gold Pearl.
“When developing our novelties collection, we explore key social drivers and emerging trends,” says Lars Schmidt, Senior Vice President of Business-to-Business, Mobility, Licensing and Collaborations. “These insights, combined with our precision-cutting expertise, result in vibrant colours and innovative cuts that inspire creativity and empower our partners.”
For Swarovski, Facets of Time is more than a new collection — it’s a continuation of its 130-year legacy as the “Masters of Light.” Inspired by the idea of the “luxury of time,” the collection reflects the brand’s ongoing commitment to sustainability, innovation and design.
