Samsung pulls the plug on One UI 7 rollout for older devices due to “serious bug” ; Don’t install even if it is available to you

Been wanting the Samsung One UI 7 update for some time? Well, guess you have to wait for a bit more as some sort of bug is “bugging” the OS for older devices.

Samsung One UI 7 Malaysia Release 2

Following AndroidAuthority‘s report on the matter, the pausing of the rollout was first viraled by well-known Samsung tipster Ice Universe, followed by massive outcries in Samsung’s official forums in the Korean home base region.

Specifically, the “serious bug” has been affecting users who updated earlier on April 7, since they were the first regions to get it, but the second batch within the U.S reported the same issue on April 10.

The problem is said to be related to device unlocking, which can be a huge issue that directly influences the usability of the smartphone. Speaking of smartphones, coincidence or not, early info suggested that only Galaxy S24 models with the Exynos 2400 chipset were affected.

Yet, a bit later, sources confirmed that even Snapdragon-powered models were not able to fetch the update, further implying that Samsung has officially removed the OTA data from its servers.

As of now, no official response has been given in terms of why it happened or how the rollout schedule will change accordingly.
