Samsung launches One UI 8 beta program
It’s quite a surprise to see Samsung getting back on track with its original software release timings as One UI 7 was delayed by a few months. At Samsung’s Newsroom website, an article detailing One UI 8’s beta program was published and some new features were highlighted too. One UI 8 will be released alongside the upcoming foldable devices.
The One UI 8 Beta Program is now available for the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra, and is geo-locked to Germany, Korea, the United Kingdom, and the United States only.
Built on top of Android 16, One UI 8 promises more powerful agentic AI features for more personalized, seamless user experience and deeper partnership between Samsung and Google.
Here are some features to highlight within One UI 8’s update:
- Multimodal interactions that allow users to engage with AI via visual and contextual understanding
- Optimized UX for foldables and diverse Galaxy form factors
- Proactive AI suggestions based on daily routines and real-time context

Two new AI-powered features, Now Bar and Now Brief, will deliver curated suggestions and real-time insights, helping users stay organized and productive throughout the day.
Of course, there are enhancements on One UI 8 too.
- Auracast audio sharing via Bluetooth LE Audio, allowing users to connect multiple devices (e.g., Galaxy Buds3, hearing aids) using QR code or NFC for seamless shared audio experiences
- Faster repair center support with QR/NFC-enabled Samsung Account registration
- Upgraded Reminder app that makes trip planning and shared to-do lists more intuitive and voice-enabled
- Improved Quick Share for instant file transfers with a single tap from the Quick settings panel
If you’re interested to test out One UI 8 for yourself, then head over to the Samsung Members app. Again, One UI 8 will first be rolled out to the upcoming foldable that are coming in just a few short weeks.
