Samsung Galaxy S26 Leak Reveals Launch Date and Pricing Strategy

Launch Date and the Supposed Pricing of the Samsung Galaxy S26 Appears in Fresh Leak

If you have been holding your breath for the next big Samsung flagship, you might need to hold it just a little longer, but the relief for your bank account could make it all worth the wait. While the tech world has grown accustomed to early-year releases, fresh leaks suggest that Samsung is shifting its timeline for 2026 while simultaneously delivering a welcome surprise regarding the cost of upgrading.

A New Date for the Diary

Recently leaked dummy units of the Samsung Galaxy S26 series

According to recent reports surfacing from South Korean media, the Samsung Galaxy S26 series is now expected to be unveiled on 25 February. The launch event is reportedly scheduled to take place in San Francisco, with the devices hitting store shelves in early March.

This timeline represents a departure from the previous generation, as the Galaxy S25 handsets made their debut in January 2025. Industry insiders suggest that the schedule adjustment may be attributed to production challenges. There is speculation that these delays are linked to internal decisions, such as the reported scrapping of a “Galaxy S26 Edge” model, which forced a reshuffling of the manufacturing schedule.

Pricing Freeze to Combat Competition

While the delay might be disappointing for eager fans, the financial details accompanying the leak offer a significant upside. Despite global economic pressures, including rising manufacturing costs, tariffs, and currency fluctuations, Samsung has reportedly decided to freeze prices for the incoming lineup.

A report from Maeil Business, citing industry source @jukan05, indicates that Samsung aims to keep the price tags identical to the 2025 models to maintain a competitive edge in the market. If these figures hold, consumers can expect the following starting prices:

  • Samsung Galaxy S26: KRW 1,155,000
  • Samsung Galaxy S26 Plus: KRW 1,353,000
  • Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra: KRW 1,698,400

Looking Ahead to Foldables

The report suggests that this aggressive pricing strategy might not be limited to the S-series. Sources indicate that Samsung could apply this same “price freeze” philosophy to its foldable lineup later in the year. This would mean that successors to the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 could also arrive without the price hikes that many analysts had feared.

For now, all eyes are on San Francisco for late February, where Samsung is expected to confirm whether these consumer-friendly predictions will become reality.
