POCO releases the latest F8 Series smartphones in Malaysia with early bird prices from RM2,199
POCO Malaysia has just announced the arrival of its new F8 Ultra and F8 Pro smartphones, marking the brand’s entry into the premium flagship segment.
For starters, the new POCO F8 Ultra combines the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 with the upgraded VisionBoost D8 chipset, allowing select games to leverage features like Smart Frame Rate up to 120 FPS, Super Resolution up to 1.5K, and Game HDR.
Co-engineered with Bose, its 2.1-channel triple-speaker system delivers elevated audio despite the constraints of a compact smartphone.
In terms of design, the Denim Blue model uses Xiaomi’s third-generation nano-tech material for enhanced toughness, dirt resistance, and a tech-inspired look, whereas the Black model opts for a glass-fiber build with a refined matte-gloss finish.
Furthermore, the F8 Ultra introduces a 6.9-inch 120Hz POCO HyperRGB display built with M10 luminescent material, delivering higher brightness efficiency with lower power consumption.
It also houses a large 6,500mAh battery with 100W HyperCharge and 50W wireless HyperCharge, along with POCO Shield Glass and IP68 dust/water resistance for added peace of mind.
Photography-wise, the smartphone’s camera system is highlighted by a 50MP Light Fusion 950 sensor with OIS, equipped with a large 1/1.31″ sensor and bigger pixels for greater light sensitivity. Paired with a 1G+6P lens and advanced multi-coating, it minimizes flare and enhances detail for sharper images in both low light and sunset scenes.
It also introduces POCO’s first 50MP 5x periscope telephoto camera, enabling 5x optical zoom, 10x in-sensor zoom, and up to 20x Ultra Zoom, with Motion Capture ensuring clarity even for distant moving subjects.
Completing the setup is a 50MP ultra-wide camera and a 32MP front camera that switches to a 0.8x intelligent wide-angle mode to fit more into each selfie.
Similar to the F8 Ultra, the POCO F8 Pro also boasts Sound by Bose technology and IP68-rated dust/water resistance, but comes with a smaller 6.59-inch POCO HyperRGB display. Weighing just 199g, it is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform and a 6,210mAh battery with 100W HyperCharge.
Available in Titanium, Silver, Blue, and Black, it debuts POCO’s first one-piece milled glass back, carved from a single 2mm glass block using CNC cold-carving. This creates a 1.3mm camera deco that blends smoothly into the rear panel, while the combination of a frosted finish and glossy glass accents delivers a premium look and feel.
The F8 Pro features a 50MP telephoto camera with 2.5x optical zoom for natural half-body portraits and 5x lossless zoom for crisp close-ups, supported by telephoto motion capture for clearer shots of moving subjects.
Plus, its 50MP main camera — equipped with a Light Fusion 800 sensor and OIS — delivers reliable performance in tricky lighting conditions.
