POCO Malaysia releases the latest M8 Series smartphones; with promo price starting from RM859
POCO Malaysia has just launched its brand-new M8 Pro 5G and M8 5G mid-range smartphones, let’s take a look at them.
POCO M8 Pro 5G
To begin with, the POCO M8 Pro 5G is designed as an all-round entertainment and performance smartphone, boasting a large 6.83-inch 1.5K CrystalRes Flow AMOLED display with up to 3,200 nits peak brightness, Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and TÜV-certified eye-care dimming for comfortable viewing in any environment.
Audio is handled by dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, Hi-Res Audio support, and a 400% volume boost for clear sound even outdoors. It also packs large a 6,500mAh silicon-carbon battery with long-term durability, paired with 100W HyperCharge for a full charge in about 40 minutes and 22.5W reverse charging support.
Performance is driven by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset, supported by the POCO IceLoop liquid cooling system, improved signal stability via Xiaomi Surge T1S, and kilometer-level offline voice communication, all running on Xiaomi HyperOS with AI features like Google Gemini and Circle to Search.
Photography-wise, the M8 Pro 5G comes with a 50MP Light Fusion 800 main camera with OIS, a 32MP front camera, 4K HDR video, and AI-powered creative tools. Rounding it out is a slim, quad-curved design with Gorilla Glass Victus 2, SGS-certified durability, multiple IP dust and water resistance ratings, and Wet Touch Technology 2.0 for reliable use in harsh or wet conditions.
POCO M8 5G
On the other hand, the M8 5G focuses on portability and everyday performance, featuring an ultra-slim 7.35mm, 178g design that makes it the lightest and thinnest device in the POCO M Series.
It sports a large 6.77-inch 120Hz Flow AMOLED display with up to 3,200 nits peak brightness, DCI-P3 color support, 12-bit color depth, and TÜV-certified eye-care dimming for vivid yet comfortable viewing. Entertainment is further enhanced by dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, Hi-Res Audio, and a 300% volume boost.
Powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 platform, the smartphone supports AI features such as Google Gemini and Circle to Search, backed by a 5,520mAh battery with 45W fast charging.
For imaging, it offers a 50MP Light Fusion 400 main camera, a 20MP front camera, 4K video recording, and AI-powered portrait and editing tools for cleaner photos and everyday creativity.
