PNY @ COMPUTEX 2025: Shiny GPUs, and not-so-shiny GPUs
You won’t believe what PNY brought to COMPUTEX 2025, as their booth was packed with eye candy of various NVIDIA GPUs.
The real show-stealers were two absolutely wild, chrome-plated graphics cards – an RTX 5090 and RTX 5080, fully decked out in a mirror-like finish. These weren’t just your average high-end GPUs either. From the cooler shroud to the heatsink and even the backplate, everything was wrapped in chrome, leaving only the PCB untouched.
But before you get your wallet out, hold on. These chrome beasts aren’t hitting store shelves anytime soon. PNY said they were made just for the event, marking the company’s 40th anniversary. That said, there’s a glimmer of hope – if there’s enough interest, they might actually consider making them available. So if you’re dreaming of one in your rig, now’s your chance to speak up.
Now, stepping away from the flashy concepts, PNY also showed off new RTX 5060 models that cater to very different crowds. If you’re into minimalism or building a compact system, they’ve got two no-RGB cards – one with a dual-fan layout, and another that’s even smaller with just a single fan. Clean, compact, and no frills.
On the flip side, if you’re all about RGB and want your PC to light up the room, PNY’s got you covered too. The RTX 5060 Epic-X edition comes loaded with a triple-fan cooler and full RGB lighting – perfect for gamers who want both performance and visual drama.
Overall, PNY delivered a solid mix of flash and practicality at this year’s show. The chrome cards may be just for show (for now), but they definitely turned heads. And with both low-key and RGB-heavy RTX 5060 options in the lineup, they managed to hit both ends of the builder spectrum. Now, if only they’d do something about those ridiculously long GPU names.
