MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ SoC announced with slightly higher clock speed on one of its cores
MediaTek has announced the juiced-up version of its flagship Dimensity 9400 SoC, with a plus – the new Dimensity 9400+ is here.
It continues the “All Big Core” config with the core counts remaining the same – 1x Arm Cortex-X925 + 3x Cortex-X4 + 4x Cortex-A720. What’s different is the biggest one, the X925 is now clocked at up to 3.73GHz compared to the original’s 3.63GHz.
So yeah, this can be practically treated as a highly binned version of the Dimensity 9400 as the NPU 890 module is now 20% faster in running agentic AI models thanks to Speculative Decoding+, and through the new Dimensity Agentic AI Engine (DAE), devs can turn regular AI apps into smarter, more autonomous ones.
And that’s pretty much it as the rest of the lineup is unchanged such as 10667Mbps LPDDR5X RAM, UFS 4.0 storage, display support up to WQHD+ resolution and 180 Hz refresh rate, and of course, the Immortalis-G925MC12 GPU.
The first phones rocking the Dimensity 9400+ are hitting the market this month, so you’ll be seeing them in the wild very soon.
