MEASAT and Boustech Ink Satellite Collaboration to Support Malaysian Armed Forces at LIMA 2025
MEASAT Global Bhd (MEASAT), Malaysia’s premier satellite solutions provider, has signed a Term Sheet with Boustead Technology Sdn Bhd (Boustech) to formalise a collaboration aimed at supporting the Malaysian Armed Forces’ satellite requirements.
The agreement was signed today in Langkawi, in conjunction with the 17th Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA 2025).
MEASAT was represented by its Chief Commercial Officer, Ganendra Selvaraj, while Boustech was represented by its CEO, Sharifuddin Md Zaini Al-Manaf. The signing ceremony was witnessed by Malaysia’s Minister of Defence, Dato’ Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin; the Ministry of Defence Secretary General, Datuk Lokman Hakim Ali; Chairman of Boustead Holdings Berhad, Tan Sri Abu Bakar Haji Abdullah; along with other representatives from the Ministry of Defence, the Armed Forces Fund Board (LTAT), and the two companies.
Boustech, a wholly owned subsidiary of Boustead Holdings Bhd – a government-linked investment company (GLIC) – plays a strategic role in advancing defence and technology-based solutions.
These include secure communications and the development of digital infrastructure to support national priorities, especially for the Malaysian Armed Forces.
In the longer term, MEASAT and Boustech will explore next-generation capabilities to support the Malaysian Armed Forces’ Future Force initiatives, leveraging a new satellite to be launched and operated by MEASAT.
“As Malaysia’s sovereign satellite operator and a proudly home-grown company, MEASAT is honoured to partner with Boustech in supporting the Malaysian Armed Forces’ satellite communications needs, as outlined in the nation’s Defence White Paper.
“This partnership also underlines our continued commitment to the Government of Malaysia’s broader communications requirements. With over 30 years of experience delivering end-to-end satellite solutions powered by cutting-edge technology, MEASAT is well-positioned to meet the nation’s most demanding and sensitive operational needs,” said Ganendra.
“This collaboration represents a significant milestone in Boustech’s mission to enhance secure, mission-critical communications infrastructure for the Malaysian Armed Forces. MEASAT’s proven track record over three decades as Malaysia’s sovereign satellite operator makes them an ideal partner.
“Together, we aim to explore and deliver advanced satellite-based solutions tailored to defence operations. We are confident this partnership will unlock new possibilities aligned with the evolving demands of national security and digital resilience,” said Sharifuddin.
Visitors are invited to explore MEASAT’s capabilities and offerings at LIMA 2025, taking place from 20 to 24 May 2025, at Booth A073 in Hall A, Mahsuri International Exhibition Centre.
