Kingston’s IronKey D500S gets more third party verification to be an iron wall for safeguarding data
Kingston has officially received the NIST FIPS 140-3 Level 3 validation for its IronKey D500S USB drive that pairs with the TAA-compliant standard to protect even the most sensitive data in case it needs to be stored off-site or be carried around.
Built with critical parts only from TAA-compliant suppliers, this USB drive offers XTS-AES 256-bit encryption and goes beyond just meeting compliance by individually verifying themselves and each other to ensure no weak links, plus each drive has matching internal and external serial numbers for better tracking.
Feature-wise, it’s loaded. It’s the first drive to offer a dual-partition setup, letting admins create separate secure spaces with multiple passwords, including a hidden file store that stays invisible on untrusted systems.
There’s also a Global Read-Only mode for extra safety, and a Crypto-Erase function to wipe everything clean if the drive ever falls into the wrong hands. Plus, it’s built tough with a zinc casing, military-grade shock and drop resistance, and IP67 dust and water protection.
With capacities up to 512GB, a 5-year warranty, and full customization options, the IronKey D500S is clearly built for organizations that can’t compromise on security.
