Johor Unveils RM209 Million Incentives With Record Revenue In Sight
Johor is rolling out 42 initiatives worth RM209 million to ease living costs, boost community welfare and strengthen infrastructure, reaching nearly 1.9 million residents across the state.
Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi said the funds, expected to be disbursed from October, include RM1.72 million for 132 mosques and suraus under the Johor Friday Infaq Programme, RM5.6 million for all 56 constituencies to prepare for the Northeast Monsoon and RM13.7 million for the expansion of the Johor Care Sale programme to 252 locations that will benefit 1.3 million residents.
“These initiatives reflect Johor’s determination to channel its success back to the people through practical support that addresses daily needs while empowering communities,” Onn Hafiz said.
The announcement comes as the state is on track to achieve a state revenue projection of RM2.5 billion this year, the highest in its history, surpassing previous peak figures of RM1.5 billion to RM1.7 billion recorded between 2015 and 2021.
Onn Hafiz shared that the state has recorded consistent annual revenue growth of RM200-RM300 million since 2022, supported by the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ) and major investments, including RM56 billion in approved foreign direct investments in the second alone.
“Johor also posted 6.4% GDP growth last year, surpassing the national average and cementing its position as Malaysia’s fastest-growing state economy.
“Meticulous planning, strong financial management, and teamwork have placed Johor on this trajectory — but most importantly, our people must feel the benefits of this growth,” Onn Hafiz said.
