Hyundai Malaysia Debuts Award-Winning IONIQ N Performance EVs


Hyundai Motor Malaysia (HMY) has officially launched the IONIQ 5 N and IONIQ 6 N at the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS) 2026, marking the debut of the brand’s high-performance electric vehicle range in Malaysia.

The launch introduces Hyundai N, the Korean automaker’s performance division, to the local market, bringing two award-winning electric models developed at Hyundai’s Namyang R&D Centre and tested at Germany’s Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit.

The IONIQ 5 N, which was named the 2024 World Performance Car, delivers up to 650PS with N Grin Boost and accelerates from 0-100km/h in 3.4 seconds. It has a top speed of 260km/h and a WLTP driving range of 448km. The model is priced at RM443,888 and will be offered on a built-to-order basis.

Meanwhile, the IONIQ 6 N, winner of the 2026 World Performance Car title, produces the same 650PS output and completes the century sprint in 3.2 seconds. The performance sedan has a top speed of 257km/h and a WLTP range of 487km. It is priced at RM449,888 and is also available through a built-to-order programme.

Both models feature Hyundai N-specific technologies including N e-Shift, N Active Sound+, N Drift Optimiser, N Grin Boost, N Torque Distribution and N Launch Control.

Bookings are now open through authorised Hyundai N dealers, including Sime Darby Auto Hyundai in the Klang Valley, Goh Brothers Motor in Penang and Heng Lian Enterprise in Kuching.

The vehicles will be showcased at KLIMS 2026, held at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) from June 12 to 21.
