GrabX 2025 event showcases new features to tackle different market segments; For one, for many, for the outgoing gang
The latest GrabX product showcase event has concluded recently, and with its “For Every You” approach, the new stuff is ready to give every user a brand new experience to enjoy the Grab ecosystem.
The first one is GrabFood for One, which is dedicated to the “lonely oneself” people who are frustrated by restrictions like minimum order amounts and disproportionate delivery fees (To be fair, the current Grab rates in Malaysia are kind of bad too).
With the new platform, all solo meals will be backed by no minimum spending and consistently low delivery charges. Surprisingly, the SEA trio of Malaysia + Singapore + Indonesia has already had a taste of this new function.
Other than that, they also took a page out of Chinese delivery platforms by introducing Shared Saver, which is a “group package” that allows multiple strangers to order the same food together, which can lead to savings being spread amongst the group. It also comes with a countdown timer and visible savings during checkout and is currently available in Singapore, with other regions to follow.
Now for the families – the new “Grab For Family | Teens” feature aims to provide more security and protection for teenage users by linking them with family accounts which can unlock things like ride matching with top-rated drivers, PIN verification, and the AudioProtect system that actively monitors rides using GenAI for real-time threat detection. The addition of trip monitoring allows guardians to track the ride from start to finish. This feature is set to roll out across markets in May.
Speaking of AudioProtect, this feature is ubiquitous as it is active in the background that can help Grab to intervene should any danger be sensed during a given ride, thus giving assengers greater peace of mind throughout their journey.
And, for the people who travels frequently, the new Advance Booking (Airport Pickup) feature is going to streamline your next vacation or business trip as it can sync up with the flight you’re taking in conjunction with landing times and whatnot, allowing you to have a seamless travelling experience from flying the plane to taking a readily available local cab to bring to your next destination.
You’ll probably find Grab Travel Pass useful to you as it is essentially a digital “discount coupon book” that lets you enjoy lower prices across SEA countries in many sectors like rides and food, as well as Dine Out Discovery powered by GrabMaps if you’re the adventureous type that wants to find out what’s the best grub spot near you with online menu and reservations available if applicable.
