Galaxy AI integrates deeper into the system with One UI 7

One of the main highlights of the Galaxy S25 series is actually the arrival of One UI 7. Samsung delayed the launch of One UI 7 and the first device to be running this new generation of UI is the S25 series.

That’s because there are 3 new main features within the Galaxy AI umbrella. First, the human-like agents which is more like upgrades across the board. A few examples are that the AI select feature – the little rectangle tool that we draw on the screen to take a screenshot will now automatically suggest us record a GIF if it detects a video. Circle to Search will now come with music search can detect both on-device and environment, and it comes by default. Voice search in the gallery works as well, and voice commands can also change system settings directly.

Secondly, the integrated AI platform. For this, Google’s Gemini will have deeper integration into One UI. It can pass commands to these apps, with WhatsApp and Spotify being the only two 3rd party apps that are integrated as of now. This is actually significant because if you want to use this cross-app feature on Gemini now, you can – but you have to pay. But if you have the S25 series, it’s directly integrated already.

Thirdly – and I think this is something that I’ll use in a daily basis – is the Now Brief. This new feature is the summary of your day. In the morning, it’ll show how’s your sleep, the weather, your calendar, all of those stuff. In the evening, it’ll show another summary, telling you what you’ve done for the day, what photos you’ve taken, expiring coupons, and everything else. I have captured the list of apps that works with the Now Brief feature – and surprisingly, YouTube Shorts is one of them. Shorts, not the long-form video. We can disable or enable whatever we want – so we do have a lot of control.

There’s also the Now Bar. It sits at the bottom of the lock screen and it essentially does a lot of things as it replaces the music player notification, the timer, map navigation, all of those things.

To ensure all our data is protected, Samsung claims that everything is done locally if possible, and only sent to Galaxy AI servers whenever cloud processing is needed. We do have a button to fully disable cloud processing entirely – so you can do that, but some features will be affected.

The cameras – Samsung claims that they have better algorithm for noise reduction and also temporal filter that they’re called it the ProVisual Engine.

While the camera hardware remains largely unchanged, the software side is like a love letter for content creators. We have 10-bit HDR, Galaxy LOG that records all videos in LOG format. Pro Video mode also comes with zebra patterns and false colors alongside exclusive LUTs. If we download the Expert RAW app from the Galaxy Store, we can even use the virtual aperture for bokeh.

Oh – there’s another crazy AI feature called Audio Eraser. When we record some audio, it’ll automatically split the audio into individual stems. One stem for voice, another for background noise, and if there’s wind – there’s another for wind too. It can detect 6 types of noises for now – and we can independently select how much to increase or decrease the volume of each stem. We tried it out – and it’s actually very effective.
There are a few more new features that we didn’t manage to catch – and we’ll have more videos showcasing these features when we get our hands on the Galaxy S25.
