Dell Technologies upgrades its private cloud infrastructure solutions with AI-driven automation and stronger cyber resilience
Dell Technologies has introduced a sweeping set of private cloud innovations designed to give enterprises more control, flexibility, and resilience in managing both traditional and modern workloads. With customers facing rising costs, increasing virtualization demands, and concerns over vendor lock-in, Dell is positioning its disaggregated private cloud solutions as a way to unify compute, storage, and cyber resilience under a more open and automated framework.
At the center of these advancements is Dell Private Cloud, powered by the Dell Automation Platform with both on-premises and SaaS deployment options. The solution enables organizations to scale, automate, and manage private cloud deployments using their preferred operating stacks while leveraging Dell’s infrastructure portfolio, including PowerStore, PowerFlex, and PowerMax.
Meanwhile, AI-driven automation enhances infrastructure monitoring and management, while the integration of Dell NativeEdge into the platform extends automation and security to distributed and edge environments.
Smarter storage: PowerStore integrates with Nutanix and adds QLC flash models
To start, Dell PowerStore now supports a new QLC-based model, the PowerStore 5200Q, which combines enterprise performance with lower cost-per-gigabyte economics. Customers can scale beyond 23PB per cluster and benefit from improved workload placement with existing clusters. O
On the software side, PowerStore introduces AI-powered Smart Support Auto-Heal, cutting issue resolution time by up to 90%, along with stronger enterprise-grade security via anomaly detection, single sign-on, biometric authentication, and fiber channel replication.
A major highlight is the upcoming integration with Nutanix Cloud Platform, set for early access in Spring 2026. This move combines Dell’s storage expertise with Nutanix’s cloud operating model, giving enterprises more choice in how they build and run their private clouds.
PowerFlex scales efficiency with new Scalable Availability Engine
Meanwhile, Dell PowerFlex is being updated with the PowerFlex Ultra release, which debuts the Scalable Availability Engine (SAE). This new architecture introduces native block-level, fully distributed erasure coding that boosts efficiency and resiliency for software-defined storage.
Dell claims up to 80% storage efficiency, more than 50% physical footprint reduction, and availability up to 10x9s, ensuring workloads remain operational even during multiple node failures.
PowerMax delivers mission-critical speed and automation
For mission-critical workloads, Dell PowerMax now offers up to 25% greater performance along with advanced automation features such as 1-click software updates that complete in under six seconds and zero-touch management installs. The new PowerMax 2500 adds QLC drive support, scaling from 122 TB to 8.8 PB per array, making it suitable for capacity-heavy environments. On the security front, PowerMax adds Microsoft Entra ID integration and encrypted email alerts to enhance compliance and data protection.
PowerProtect enhances cyber resilience across workloads
Cyber resilience remains a top priority, and Dell PowerProtect is expanding with two new appliances. The compact PowerProtect Data Domain DD3410 offers scalable, secure data protection for smaller offices, while the new PowerProtect Data Manager Appliance delivers centralized, software-defined cyber resilience with anomaly detection, data immutability, and integrity protection. Both solutions are designed to help organizations defend against attacks and accelerate recovery times.
