China, France Share Views On Global Governance, Climate Action, And Nuclear Energy

China and France on Friday released a series of joint statements outlining expanded bilateral cooperation and shared positions on key international issues, as French President Emmanuel Macron continued his state visit to China.

According to the statements, both countries agreed to deepen coordination on global governance, reaffirming their commitment to multilateralism and the role of the United Nations in addressing global challenges. The two sides also pledged to enhance dialogue on international security, development financing and reform of global institutions.

Climate and environmental cooperation featured prominently in the joint announcements. China and France vowed to strengthen their collective response to global climate change, including accelerating efforts toward carbon neutrality, expanding green technology collaboration and supporting biodiversity protection initiatives.

The two nations also committed to further promoting cooperation in the peaceful use of nuclear energy, emphasising safety, technological exchange and the role of nuclear power in supporting clean-energy transitions.

Agriculture and food security formed another area of expanded engagement, with both governments agreeing to boost exchanges in agricultural science, food safety standards and sustainable farming practices.

In addition to bilateral cooperation, China and France outlined shared perspectives on major international conflicts, including the situations in Ukraine and Palestine. The statements underscored the importance of diplomatic solutions, respect for international law and efforts aimed at de-escalation and lasting peace.

Macron’s visit marks his latest engagement with Beijing as both countries seek to reinforce strategic dialogue and economic cooperation amid a complex global environment.
