ASUS VivoWatch ECG app gets Thai FDA nod, bringing medical-grade heart monitoring to your wrist
ASUS has announced that its VivoWatch ECG app is now being officially recognized by the Food and Drug Administration Thailand department for actual and serious health monitoring readiness.
This milestone marks ASUS’s deepening commitment to digital healthcare, with Joe Hsieh, COO and Global SVP of ASUS, saying it validates their tech and reinforces the company’s mission to provide smart, medical-grade solutions to users around the world.
So, what exactly does this mean for users? With the new ECG feature, all you have to do is place your fingertip on the watch-face sensor for 30 seconds, and you’ll get an ECG reading right on your wrist. Better yet, you can easily share that data with your doctor. And as of now, users may find it on the ASUS VivoWatch 6 and VivoWatch 6 AERO models.
And this isn’t just for personal use either, as ASUS says the ECG functionality is built to work across the board, from individual users to clinics, hospitals, and even high-end wellness providers in the B2B space. With blood pressure monitoring also baked into the device, users can now track two of the most crucial cardiovascular indicators in real time.
If you already own a compatible ASUS VivoWatch, you can access the ECG feature today by updating both the watch software and the ASUS HealthConnect app.
