Another High-Profile Racing Event Postponed In Qatar

The Qatar Grand Prix (GP), originally scheduled for April 10-12 at the Lusail International Circuit, has been postponed to Nov 8 due to escalating tensions in the Middle East, Reuters reported as announced by MotoGP on March 15

The US-Israeli strikes on Iran have disrupted travel across the Gulf, forcing cancellations and rescheduling of major sporting events.

“MotoGP confirms that the Qatar GP…has been postponed to Nov 8 due to the ongoing geopolitical situation,” the organisers said.

The change also shifts the Portuguese GP to Nov 22, with the season finale in Valencia now set for Nov 29. Aprilia’s Marco Bezzecchi leads the championship following the opening round in Thailand, with Brazil and the US hosting the next two races in March.

Formula One has similarly been affected, announcing on March 14 that races in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia will not take place in April.
