Alibaba Cloud Partners with PayNet to Accelerate Malaysia’s Fintech Ecosystem
Alibaba Cloud, the digital technology and intelligence backbone of Alibaba Group, has announced a strategic partnership with Payments Network Malaysia Sdn Bhd (PayNet) as a Cloud Partner for the newly launched PayNet Fintech Hub—Malaysia’s first dedicated community and accelerator focused exclusively on fintech innovation.
Spearheaded by PayNet, the Fintech Hub is designed to fast-track the growth of Malaysia’s fintech sector by offering startups access to capital, expert networks, financial incentives, and international exposure.
Through this collaboration, Alibaba Cloud will play a critical role in equipping fintech entrepreneurs with advanced cloud infrastructure, artificial intelligence tools, and the global connectivity necessary to build scalable, future-ready businesses.
“Malaysia’s fintech ecosystem is expanding rapidly, and we are excited to support this growth by providing the technological capabilities required to innovate and grow,” said Kun Huang, General Manager of Malaysia at Alibaba Cloud Intelligence. “Our goal is to help startups scale smarter, faster, and more securely through our cloud services and AI solutions.”
Startups and members of the Fintech Hub community will gain access to Alibaba Cloud’s Startup Catalyst Programme, which includes up to US$120,000 in cloud credits, three months of global technical support for the price of one, a 12-month membership to Alibaba Cloud Academy, and participation in the AI Alliance Community.
They will also be invited to attend global startup showcases, ecosystem events, and investor engagements hosted by Alibaba Cloud.
According to Gary Yeoh, Chief Marketing Officer at PayNet, the partnership with Alibaba Cloud significantly enhances the Hub’s value proposition by giving Malaysian fintech startups access to enterprise-grade tools, deep technical support, and international market exposure.
“This collaboration accelerates the growth of Malaysia’s fintech ecosystem by empowering innovators to scale quickly, efficiently, and competitively on the global stage,” he said.
The initiative reflects Alibaba Cloud’s broader commitment to nurturing a thriving AI and digital economy in Malaysia. With a track record of supporting enterprises across Asia Pacific, the company is now focused on developing infrastructure that fosters intelligent fintech solutions while supporting local talent and innovation.
