Malaysians In Iran Safe, Wisma Putra Advises Postponing Visits


The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Wisma Putra) today issued a media advisory confirming that all Malaysians registered with the Embassy of Malaysia in Tehran are safe, despite widespread demonstrations and unrest in Iran.

The Ministry, through its Embassy in Tehran, is closely monitoring the situation. A core part of the Embassy’s current efforts involves actively reaching out to registered Malaysians to ensure their well-being and provide timely updates.

Malaysians currently residing in or travelling to the affected areas of Iran are strongly advised to exercise vigilance and strictly adhere to all safety instructions issued by local authorities.To ensure effective communication, the Ministry strongly encourages all Malaysians in Iran to register their presence with the Embassy immediately. Furthermore, Wisma Putra recommends postponing all non-essential visits to the country for the time being.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated it will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide further updates as necessary
