Kyndryl Opens ASEAN AI Lab In Singapore To Tackle Workforce Readiness Gap
Kyndryl has launched a new ASEAN AI Innovation Lab in Singapore, aiming to accelerate responsible AI adoption and close the talent-readiness gap across Southeast Asia. The facility will house about 50 AI professionals and focus on helping businesses operationalise artificial intelligence while meeting regulatory and security demands.
The launch comes amid regional concerns that while 95% of businesses have invested in AI, 71% of leaders admit their workforces are not equipped to utilise it effectively, according to Kyndryl’s People Readiness Report 2025.
The new lab will support firms through co-creation and consultancy services, offering access to real-time use cases and demonstrations. Working with partners such as Google Cloud and Digital Industry Singapore (DISG), the initiative also targets scalable, energy-efficient AI deployment.
In addition to Singapore, Kyndryl aims to drive AI growth in Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines. Its past projects include AI-enabled logistics screening in Vietnam and enhanced multilingual training content for hospitality chains.
The Lab supports Singapore’s National AI Strategy 2.0 by bridging academia, government and industry to build a future-ready, AI-skilled workforce.
